LOW LIGHT AND NIR
Surveillance VIS-NIR cameras based on CCD/CMOS/ICCD/EMCCD/EBAPS imaging sensors sensitive in visible and near infrared range are widely used in many long-range surveillance applications as independent imagers or as part of a bigger multi-sensor surveillance systems. Majority of VIS-NIR cameras are used for day level applications but an increasing number of these cameras is used to enable
surveillance in both night and day conditions.
SWIR

SWIR is the acronym for Short Wave Infra-Red and refers to non-visible light falling roughly between 1400 and 3000 nanometers (nm) in wavelength. The visible spectrum ranges from 400nm to 700nm, therefore SWIR light is invisible to the human eye. To detect SWIR wavelengths, we need dedicated sensors made of InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide). SWIR imaging is used for a variety of applications in different aspects of the industry and research, ranging from inspection, quality control, identification, detection, surveillance, and more.

MWIR
Medium-wave infrared thermal cameras, also known as cooled thermal cameras, can detect small subjects at extreme ranges making them highly suited for long range applications in challenging weather conditions. Medium-wave infrared (MWIR) is a subdivision of the IR band of the electromagnetic spectrum, which captures infrared energy in the 3 to 5 micrometer medium-wave infrared (LWIR)
spectrum.
LWIR
Thermal imaging of objects at or near room temperature is typically done in the 8–14 μm longwave-infrared (LWIR) spectral band, as the Planck curve for blackbody radiation for room-temperature (300 K) objects peaks in the LWIR at about 9 μm. LWIR imaging has the great advantages of being able to image objects by their own light and discriminate between objects based on their temperature. The most widely used sensor type used in LWIR imaging, and the one most covered in this article, is the uncooled bolometer focal-plane array (FPA).
